Saatchi & Saatchi: Nothing is Impossible

When Saatchi & Saatchi opened their first office in London back in 1970 they inscribed the motto, “Nothing is impossible” into the entrance floor as a reminder to everyone who entered the building each morning what could be achieved or overcome that day.

Almost 50 years later, I designed a neon sign for the new Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne office for the same reason. I did this by writing it on a piece of paper in my normal cursive handwriting.

We created a vector file from the writing for the sign, but also to use in our email signature. Within months the vector file was requested for and shared with Saatchi & Saatchi offices around the world, and now is on reception walls, websites and email signatures from Argentina to Zimbabwe. (Not sure how accurate that is, I just wanted to do an A-Z thing, but you get the point… it’s in New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Italy… all over the place).

Whilst I’m not part of the origination of the, ‘Nothing is Impossible’ motto, it is something I’m proud to have recrafted. Particularly as it’s been taken up voluntarily by so many offices around the world, and because seeing your own handwriting on Italian reception walls or South African websites is in equal parts very strange and very rewarding.
